French
At Ark Castledown it is our job to prepare our pupils and introduce them to modern foreign languages, and in turn cultures beyond their own in an engaging and innovative way. Our engaging MFL curriculum, which is taught through rhymes, songs and has practical communication at the heart, sparks our children’s curiosity and fosters an appreciation of other cultures. As well as expanding the horizons of our children’s, our aim through quality first MFL teaching is to give our children the firm foundations they need to go onto excel in their learning of languages in KS3. Castledown pupils are taught French throughout Key Stage 2.
To support our teaching of French, we use the resources provided by Salut! It includes interactive games, singalongs, stories and activities to help children get to grips with the language — and have plenty of fun while they’re at it.
