Introduction from the new Principal
I am writing to you to introduce myself as your new Principal of Ark Castledown from September. I am absolutely delighted to take up this post and work together with you over the coming years to make Ark Castledown the best school it can be.
My name is Mark Rankin and I am currently the Principal at Ark Little Ridge, where I have been for four happy and successful years. Of course, I am sad to leave, but I am ready and very enthusiastic to be the new Principal of Ark Castledown. I have been a teacher for over twenty years and part of a senior leadership team for the last ten years. I have spent the majority of my career teaching in the Hastings area, where I have lived most of my life, and have a passion for educating Hastings children.
I am dedicated to providing the very best education for the children of our town and in particular the children of Ark Castledown. I hold a strong child-centred approach to teaching, where consistency, praise, encouragement, yet challenge, are key. I believe that all children have a unique potential and it is a privilege, as a teacher and a leader, to be able to inspire and motivate children to achieve their goals.
From my experience of being a school leader, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together, and that parents make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school. I am committed to developing excellent working relationships with all of you.
In September, we are hopeful that school will return for all pupils, but this is likely to look different to usual. Please be assured that as soon as we have finalised arrangements these will be communicated to you.
I wish to thank you in advance for your support and to let you know, I am determined to do the very best for Ark Castledown, and that I am excited and enthused to take up this new role in September.
In the meantime, I hope you all have an enjoyable summer and I look forward to meeting you in the coming months.
