“I started at Ark Castledown in my teacher training year and I have never left! I joined Ark Castledown as an ATT, a route into teaching that I would highly recommend as there is a balance of diving straight in and learning on the job, whilst feeling incredibly supported at the same time. I then stayed for my ECT year, where I had a different coach which allowed me to draw upon experiences from another highly experienced teacher. Despite being an ECT, I was never made to feel like I couldn’t challenge myself even more and in my ECT year I became Humanities Lead. Now I have taken on the role of Maths Lead which has allowed me more opportunities to learn across the school. I love working at this school, where I am surrounded by staff who are passionate, caring and supportive and children who have such a desire to learn and who are inspired to be the best they can possibly be.”

"I love working at Ark Castledown, and have done for eight years. I have progressed through completing my training year here, to leading mathematics and leading reading. I have also been lucky enough to teach both KS1 and KS2.

The thing that makes Castledown Castledown, are the people. The people that work here and the passion and dedication they show in supporting our children to succeed and have wonderful experiences whilst they are in primary school. The children that attend Ark Castledown also make us what we are. The pride and grit our students show every day really fuels me as a teacher. Finally, the families in our community. Seeing families attend Maths Play events, or the Christmas fayre really displays what a supportive community of families we have at Ark Castledown.
